Private Lessons

How do I get lessons?

The Children's Music Foundation takes our programs into organizations such as shelters, hospitals and orphanages. We give free musical instruments and free music lessons to children who don't otherwise have access to music and music instruction in their daily lives. In these group settings, we work with children who are displaced from their home, separated from their family or are handling a medical condition. We understand the strong connection between music and academic success, music and social success/confidence, music and overall well-being, and, The Children's Music Foundation is dedicated to connecting with and introducing music to children who don't have the traditional means or resources for music instruction.

One way we raise money so that our programs remain free is through private lessons with private instructors. We ask two things of each participant in our private lessons program; one is to make a donation with each lesson according to what they can pay (we use the honor system), and the other is to 'Play it Forward!' by teaching someone else what we've taught them. When you pay for a lesson, and Play it Forward! a lesson, two children benefit from you!
The market value of each lesson is $50 per 45 minutes. Participants donate from $5 to $50 per student, per lesson.
